Teenagers Who Vape Should Seek Nicotine Addiction Treatment Immediately
The longer a teen vapes the harder it is to quit until it soon becomes virtually impossible
Wednesday, April 8, 2020 - A lawsuit was recently filed by a California teen that alleges using Juul vape products caused him to become addicted to nicotine due to the company's deliberate false and misleading advertising that vaping was safe. 19-year old Cree Witmer of California is suing Juul alleging to have "developed a severe nicotine addiction, the ramifications of which he will deal with for the rest of his life. Defendants' wrongful conduct in marketing, promoting, manufacturing, selling, designing, and distributing JUUL substantially contributed to Cree Witmer's injuries. Juul is accused of engaging in several illegal marketing schemes designed to target young, impressionable adolescents without their knowledge of being prey. According to Cree's lawsuits "JUUL specifically advertised its products to impressionable teens by spending more than $200,000 on online "influencers," including celebrity chefs to provide pod pairing suggestions, " among several other dubious marketing angles. Juul Vape Pen lawyers are helping families nationwide and offer a free no obligation consultation before filing a lawsuit claim.
Nicotine addiction is starting to get the attention the condition deserves as it is as life-threatening a disease as any. Nicotine addiction is one thing when it presents itself as a result of the conscious and informed decisions that an adult makes, but when a child is tricked into a lifetime of nicotine addiction, the crime is particularly heinous. Such is the case of Juul Inc. maker of popular e-cigarettes and vape paraphernalia that the company marketed illegally and directly to America's underage children to get them nicotine-addicted and to sell more of their product. It is only a matter of time before Juul executives and those at their subsidiaries Altria and Phillip Morris are held criminally responsible for seriously and permanently damaging the health of America's youth.
Teenagers and middle schoolers that vape should be aware that they could become permanently addicted to nicotine from the very first vape puff as only one vape cartridge contains the same amount of nicotine as a pack of Marlboro Red cigarettes considered to be the strongest cigarette on the market. Teen.SmokeFree.gov lists the early signs that teenagers should look for indicating that they are nicotine addicted. The sooner someone recognizes that they are an addict the easier it is to engage in treatment to eliminate the condition. Teen SmokeFree writes that some signs of nicotine addiction include: "Cravings, or feeling like you need to use tobacco (vape). Going out of your way to get tobacco (vape products). Feeling anxious or irritable if you want to use tobacco (vaping) but can't. Continuing to use tobacco (vape) because you find it hard to stop. When you're addicted to nicotine, you may experience symptoms of nicotine withdrawal after you stop using tobacco (vaping). Craving cigarettes (vaping), feeling sad or irritable, or having trouble sleeping are some common symptoms of withdrawal. These symptoms are usually strongest in the first week after quitting, but they are only temporary."
Scientists agree that vaping can have long-term psychological consequences on teenagers as they progress through life because a teen's brain and ability to reason are in the development stage and also nicotine addiction can be the gateway to becoming addicted to other dangerous drugs. Nicotine addiction can make self-control more difficult.
